HOPE Weekend

Spring 2015

(PLEASE NOTE: Registration link will take you to Live the Life’s website and more information)

Our vision for Hope Weekends is simple: We want to see broken marriages healed and restored.

Three Cord Strand’s and Live the Life’s Mission is to strengthen marriages and families

Thousands of marriages, in situations as complex and painful as yours, have been transformed with the help of professionals who understand where you are right now and care deeply about where you and your spouse wind up in the future. Our Hope Weekends are powerful programs for restoring individuals and rebuilding marriages. Hope Weekends are more than couples counseling, more than a plan to stop divorce, and more than a “feel good” marriage retreat. Hope Weekends offer a new beginning, even for husbands and wives who think all hope is lost.

Most couples do not know HOW to be married. They often do not know what to do different, and lack the skills and tools for healthy relationships. During Hope Weekends, we teach couples practical skills for bonding, attachment, emotional regulation, communication, problem solving, forgiveness and the foundations for intimacy (meaning closeness-not just sex) and love. By learning specific skills, most couples get “unstuck” and can choose to make the difference they hope for.

Shattered marriages really can come together in new ways. Your life and marriage can be better and stronger than it was before. Take one more step and contact us now. You have everything to gain and so much to lose if you don’t.

The teachers and facilitators for Hope Weekends are nationally recognized experts in the marriage education field. They include professional therapists, pastoral counselors, and marriage coaches certified in the Adventures in Marriage curriculum and thoroughly grounded in biblical principles for relational healing and growth. On occasion, their spouses or others will assist. Depending on the date you select, the following team members may be leading/assisting with the next Hope Weekend:

Richard and Elizabeth Albertson
Nathan Bell
Tobby Donalson
Pastor Bob Garment
Dr. Richard Marks
Darin and Deborah Saley
Rev. Tim and Barbara Daugherty

Right now, your situation may feel like two people, too far apart, with too much damage done to save the marriage. But before you and your spouse close the door forever, you owe it to yourselves (and any children you may have) to give saving this marriage one more try. It is not too late to put the pieces back together.

HOPE Weekends are for any couple who is experiencing marital distress and/or need help in communication, problem solving, and skills for reconnecting to each other and sustaining an intimate relationship. Generally, couples who come to HOPE Weekends simply feel like they are “stuck” in a place that they can’t get out of by themselves. This includes severe crisis situations, such as couples on the brink of divorce. Yet, this experience is also perfect for couples that are struggling and need an intervention by nationally recognized marriage and relationship experts.

HOPE Weekends are also attended by premarital couples and by couples who seek to enrich their relationship and strengthen their relational foundation before the marital storms come.

Couples who attend a Hope Weekend must agree to attend the whole weekend and agree to operate with goodwill and respect. Ill will and disrespect undermine healthy relationships and do not build healthy connections.
Space is limited to 6 couples maximum.

The format for Hope Weekends is a 3-day educational setting led by marriage experts and licensed professionals/pastors who are passionate about strengthening marriages and families.

“It’s full of useful tools that I haven’t found anywhere else and couldn’t
have come up with on my own.”

“The course changed a 29-year marriage of confusion, hurt, silence and missed
opportunities into a vibrant relationship of pleasure and trust that thrives
on change and growth.”

“For a young couple enjoying the beginning of our relationship, I think this
gave us a variety of ways to better share with each other, learn about
ourselves and our partners, resolve conflicts and develop relationship skills
to maintain the happy partnership we have now.

“We loved each other, but could not live together — there was so much pain.
The tools are like water in the desert.”

“The HOPE Weekend changed our relationship. We entered the program at a very
low ebb – in despair and feeling pretty hopeless about the potential we had
for happiness in our life together. From the first exercise, warmth and trust
returned and our appreciation and gratitude and love for each other began to
revive. We fell in love again.”

“The program really delivers what it claims to. It leads to actual
improvements in communication in an enjoyable way!”

“One of the most valuable things I have ever done…this will allow us to
really enjoy our life from this point forward.”

“An immense amount of healing…the first time in my life that I’ve really
felt loved.

We recognize $1,695 is a lot of money. HOPE Weekends are much cheaper than a
divorce, and far more meaningful in the long term. The average cost of
divorce in America is about $20,000 according to divorcestatistics.info. One
of our goals is to prevent the legal meter from ever starting to run in your
family, saving you thousands of dollars in legal fees.
